- Capture punch-in times and absence details immediately after the shift started.
- Provide HR teams with a report that could be ready by 8:30 AM daily.
- Ensure the data was accessible directly from Oracle Fusion HCM UI.
Real-time visibility into attendance was crucial for the HR team, as delays in receiving this information could impact workforce planning, shift adjustments, and overall productivity.
Challenges Faced:
Implementing this requirement posed several challenges:
1️ Delayed Data Processing – The punch-in times were collected through third-party biometric machines, which shared the data only on the next day. This delay made it difficult for HR teams to make informed decisions on workforce allocation.
2 Integration with Oracle Fusion HCM – The client wanted the attendance details to be visible within the Fusion UI, meaning that a seamless integration was required to bring data from the third-party system into Oracle.
3️ Continuous Data Retrieval – The attendance system needed to fetch real-time updates every 10 minutes to ensure that all employee punch-in times were available before 8:30 AM.

We leveraged WebLogic, a powerful middleware application, to bridge the gap between the third-party punch machine database and Oracle Fusion HCM.

To ensure continuous data collection, we created a custom database that fetched punch-in details every 10 minutes from the third-party system.
🔹 Seamless Data Transfer to Oracle Fusion HCM
Since the client wanted the data to be visible within Oracle Fusion UI, we created a placeholder within Fusion to store the data and accessible through OTBI / BI to present the information efficiently through a dashboard.
🔹 Automated Attendance Report for HR
To enhance HR decision-making, we developed a customized report displaying punch-in times and absence details, ensuring HR teams had all necessary information by 8:30 AM.
