The Challenges Faced:

The organization struggled with:

  1. Aligning Performance Ratings: Ensuring that manager ratings (Actual Ratings) matched the predefined organizational benchmarks (Target Ratings).
  2. Handling Large Employee Data: Managing a complex calibration process with a high volume of employees.
  3. Generating Snap Ratio Reports: The client required a detailed report comparing actual ratings with target ratings, segmented into two layers: Execute vs Evolve based on grade levels.
  4. Data Visualization Needs: A requirement to visually represent the performance data using bar charts and line charts.

Oracle Compensation Module Limitations: The existing Oracle Compensation module had seeded functionality with bar chart and data table but failed to meet the client’s needs, particularly in displaying the total number of employees per rating scale. The Graphs are not appearing when the plan population is more than 500.
  6. Capturing Target Values: Difficulty in storing and referencing target ratings efficiently within Oracle Fusion HCM.

Our Solution

With our expertise in Oracle Fusion HCM and extensive domain knowledge, we conducted an in-depth feasibility analysis and implemented an effective solution:

  1. User-Defined Tables for Target Values: We leveraged Oracle Fusion’s User-Defined Tables (UDTs) to efficiently capture and store target values, ensuring easy reference and retrieval.
  2. Enhanced Snap Ratio Reporting: We designed a detailed snap ratio report that highlights discrepancies:
    • If the Target Rating is less than or equal to the Actual Rating, it is highlighted in green.
    • If the Target Rating is higher than the Actual Rating, it is highlighted in red to prompt corrective action.
  3. Comprehensive Data Visualization:
    • Implemented bar charts and line charts to provide clear insights into the performance calibration process.

  1. Customization Beyond Standard Oracle Features: Overcoming Oracle standard Compensation’s limitations, we designed custom reports to display the total number of employees in each rating scale, ensuring better visibility and data accuracy and connected it using a hyperlink in the application page.
